Some moons ago I took a couple weeks off of the blog and social media which turned into many moons more than two weeks worth. Now even this update blog is many moons overdue. Oops. I have missed writing and dreaming stuff up here and interacting on the FB. But I did get lots done. Here is some of it. I Opened an Etsy Store Called Lost Antiquities Found No, it is not yet my perfume store… Sigh. But more on that in a sec. This is a venture to find homes for many of the d
Who would be
A mermaid fair,
Combing her hair
Under the sea,
In a golden curl
With a comb of pearl,
On a throne?
-Alfred Lord Tennyson Element of water – The place of feelings, intuition, clairvoyance, creativity. Perfect for the dreamy time between full and new moon. Following the ebb and flow of the patterns of life. A time for letting go of that which no longer serves you and dreaming up new new manifestations. Mermaids are connected with love and the m
Everything you can imagine is real. -Pablo Picasso I am simply sharing photos from an inspiring day trip to the Bristol Renaissance Faire near Kenosha, Wisconsin. As you might guess it’s mostly a smorgasbord of faerie pics. Also indulged is my obsession for windows, balconies, and the place where roof meets sky. And oddities. FAIRIES FAERIES PLAYING WITH CHILDREN… …AND FRIARS MAGICAL WINDOWS AND STUFF FAERIES ON BALCONY FUTURE HOME POSSIBILITIES FOR US LONG TIME FRIENDS Je
Or in this case – The Oak Woman My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness painsMy sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk,Or emptied some dull opiate to the drainsOne minute past, and Lethe-wards had sunk:
’Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,
But being too happy in thine happiness,—
That thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees,In some melodious plot
Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,
Singest of summer in full-throated ease. -John Keats Well that’s pretty intense, Mr. Keat
Here’s where I smell some perfumy stuff and jam on whom they’d be if they were a whom or a what. Bergamot Uplifiting and charming, you tickle me. Like a mischievously cute faerie with a penchant to please. Upbeat and fun, that feel good friend always so easy to be around. I feel you in my chest, my lifted-chin-smiling-sunshine gaze. Funny that your beautiful and sweet scent heralds from a small, inedible, unattractive type of lime. Hmmm. yet somehow it makes sense that yo
Singing Soul in Yellow and Green Yellow singing faerie joy
Light inside and bright employ
The summer’s song all in your heart
Makes loss or sadness fast depart.
~ Doreen Stelton There is such a feeling by late August. Creamy and bright. The excitement of the spring blooms have mellowed and the verdancy of summer is familiarly sweet. Cicadas, crickets, and birds serenade. Even when feeling the slightest bit low, just lie on the beautiful earth and listen and breathe. Soa
Flitter Flutter Flying Fae We the Fairies, blithe and antic,
Of dimensions not gigantic,
Though the moonshine mostly keep us,
Oft in orchards frisk and peep us.
~Thomas Randolph Take flight. Feel light. Laugh and relax with the new moon. Dream yourself silly. Slip into the air on the wings of a faerie and see where you find yourself. Me thinks the dude in the above picture was doused with something like Phenomene Vert II by Lalun Naturals. Look at his reverie. Phenomene
It is still the time of the dragon. Synchronistic unfoldment. The new moon is Friday – let the fire drake clear space for the new. Do some nice yogic twists and exhale deeply. Burn through those things that no longer serve. Some dragon sightings include; Fire drake appears in a card reading Exotic photos a friend sends captioned as gargoyles (dragons) And posts about dragons- Dragons In Trees, by Friendly Fairy Tales There were more that slip my mind at present. Here Be Dragons The Dragons Are Singing Tonight Tonight is the night all the dragons
Awake in their lairs underground,
To sing in cacophonous chorus
And fill the whole world with their sound.
They sing of the days of their glory,
They sing of their exploits of old,
Of maidens and Knights, and of fiery fights,
And guarding vast caches gold.
Some of their voices are treble,
And some of their voices are deep,
But all of their voices are thunderous,
And no one can get an
Wild Moon I ha' seen them 'mid the clouds on the heather.
Lo! they pause not for love nor for sorrow,
Yet their eyes are as the eyes of a maid to her lover,
When the white hart breaks his cover
And the white wind breaks the morn.
‘'Tis the white stag, Fame, we're a-hunting,
Bid the world's hounds come to horn!’
-Ezra Pound This blue moon of July why not follow a White Faerie Hart where it bids. Yup, a wild and sacred ride into and through the otherworld… The phantasmagori
Sweetness Berry Fairies! Flight of the Berry Fairies I went out to the hazelwood,
Because a fire was in my head,
Cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor
And gone to blow the fire aflame.
Something rustled on the floor.
And someone called me by my name:
It had become a gl
Loving Your Fiend Me circa 1980, Ren Faire days Last weekend I had the pleasure of seeing Steeleye Span live in Chicago. I don’t go to many live musical events but this I couldn’t pass up. A trip into my past with my dear friend, Jean (heartfelt thanks), with whom I worked at the Ren Faire singing Steeleye Span songs circa 1980. Steeleye Span did not disappoint. Their music was phenomenal, still, and Maddy Prior’s voice was richer with her maturity. If you are not familia
Summer Blooming I made this flower faerie! Fairies, arouse!
Mix with your song
Harplet and pipe,
Thrilling and clear.
Swarm on the boughs!
Chant in a throng!
Morning is ripe,
Waiting to hear. -William Allingham Today’s Faerie is a summery flower faerie. Now is the time to let your spirit blossom like summer flower. (Perhaps you are in a wintry zone now- if so bring a summer feel to your heart.) Wear something flowery or bright, gentleman this includes you! Take s
Since once I sat upon a promontory, And heard a mermaid on a dolphin’s back Uttering such Dulcet and harmonious breath That the rude sea grew civil at her song. Oberon, A Midsummer Night’s Dream Happy Friday. Fridays will be our Get Your Wild Faerie Soul On Day. Just in time for the weekend. The faerie of inspiration today is mermaid. Maybe you’ll spend some time at a beach for the weekend. Or kayak, or tube down a lazy river, or swim in a pool. Maybe you’ll just take a
Last weekend I went on a faerie hunt. Joyfully attending the 11th annual Maryland Faerie Festival in Darlington, Maryland at Camp Ramblewood with some dear friends; Deb and her little daughter Lulu (The Dad part of the team, David, had to work work work.). It was my first faerie festival! And Deb and Lulu’s first camping experience (we stayed the night and camped right on the grounds). Do you ever wonder why it is you don’t exactly totally fit in? Do you ever unroll your yoga mat to find glitter on it? I have wondered this a lot. “What the bleep is the matter with me?” Is one of the more harsh ponders. A preferred thought thread is, “Wait. What is that wild feeling inside of me? Maybe I should go dance naked on the dewy grass at dusk to feed it.” I have found glitter on my yoga mat. And I have always loved faeries a lot. me (today) with a mural painte
